Spiritual Truth for Living:
“Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear You and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind.” ~Psalm 31:19
During the month of November, I’ve been taking a few minutes each day to jot down something in my life I am greatful for.
I’m saving my notes in a jar, and plan to share with my kids on Thanksgiving Day. I’m calling it the Thanksgiving Challenge.
Today, I am especially greatful for Seasons. Winter, Summer, Spring, and Fall each season is beautiful and I LOVE them all!
In life, we experience different seasons and appointed times for everything.
Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 gives us an extensive list of such appointed times, “a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”
There are many times and seasons throughout our lives. Seasons of growth, seasons of change, seasons of joy, seasons of loss, and seasons of waiting.
The seasons of waiting sometimes feel the hardest. There are so many things we have to wait for. We may wait for a dream to come to pass, wait to meet the right person, wait to finish school, wait for a job promotion, wait for problem to turn around.
Even though there are many promises in the Word that encourage us as Christians to wait on God and His timing, when things just aren’t happening as fast as we would like, it can be easy to get frustrated.
How do you cope with frustration? The answer is Prayer. Talk to God through prayer, each and every minute during whatever season you are in.
God Will Listen & Answer
The very moment we pray about our concerns, God hears us. And He even establishes a set time to bring about His promises, and the answers to our prayers!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 tell us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…”
The time and season for the answers to my prayers has already been set! God’s timing is always perfect, down to the exact day, and hour. Once we trust God, it takes all the pressure off.
We don’t have to worry. We don’t have to walk around wondering if this thing or that thing is ever going to happen? We don’t have to work so hard. We can relax and enjoy life knowing God’s promise has already been scheduled, it will come in due season.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).
